What’s great with Cuban music? We love Salsa and its Cuban equivalent Timba, because of the African rhythm that is always underlying.

This has a unique feel to it and sometime never ends that’s what makes it so special to us.

Her are three great songs from Cuba:

The first is a salsa from Miguel Enriquez …Abre que voy

The second, el Quarto de tula from the Buena Vista Social Club… it is a lot more traditional and explains the concept of rhythm that virtually never ends.

The final one is a soft Reggaeton Te Bote, from Paulo FG it shows how versatile Cuban music can be…

You can expect nothing less than a night of beautiful Cuban jazz with a touch of modernism as Roberto Fonseca the pianist accompanied by Omara Portuondo and Esperanza Spalding will play at the Barbican on Tuesday 27th May.
