What?

Sun Bailante ‘the dancing sun’ spreads tropical and global sounds to the planet!

We are a Dj’s and events label organising club nights, concerts and dance workshops in London, United Kingdom.

We love rhythms from Latin America, the Caribbean Islands, Africa but also India, Arabic countries and more.

Our aim is to share our passion for music to everyone interested.

When & Where?

Sun Bailante was born when our house parties got too big to be held at home.

We decided to launch the Sunday Bailante party at Ruby & Sequoia in Notting Hill London in November 2007.

Few months later we moved to a larger venue Salmon and Compass in Angel throwing the first Fiesta Sun Bailante. We later moved to Ruby Lo near Bond street.

This monthly themed tropical party introduces you to funky Latin, Caribbean and African sounds. You can learn basic dance steps, watch explosive live show and concerts and the later DJ’s spin hot hip-shaking tunes keeping you dancing till exhaustion. It’s now held at the Islington Metal Works back in Angel on the last Friday of the month.

Who?

Jerome is the founder and main DJ. He is from Reunion Island and arrived in London in 2003. He started Djing at the International Hall of Residence of Paris in 2000 and never stopped since. He plays an eclectic range of tropical sounds from Reggaeton, Salsa, Merengue, Tropipop, Cumbia, Vallenato Samba, Baile Funk, Axe and Latin House to Dancehall, Soca, Zouk, Soukous, Coupe Decale, Kizomba, Funana, Bollywood, Gypsy, Arabic Pop and more.

DJ Shakit is from the French Island of Guadeloupe in the Caribbean. He focuses on Caribbean and African sounds. He mixes hot Soca, Dancehall, Zouk, Zouk Love, N’Dombolo, Soukous, Kuduro…

DJ GSharpz is from North London spins urban and electronic global sounds. He specialises in Hip-Hop, Funky House, Bhangra, Brazilian Drums & Bass and Baile Funk. Very technical, you will find him at his best as he scratches and cuts on his Technics 1210.

DJ Friday is from Guadeloupe too, he has been Disco-Jockey in some of the most renowned Afro-Caribbean clubs of Paris and arrived in London in 2007. He’s at his best mixing Dancehall, Hip-Hop, Soca and Zouk.

DJ KTA is the newest and freshest piece of our puzzle. This top Japanese DJ as a special liking for Latin sounds. He lives by Cumbia, Colombian, Mexican, and Argentine to cite a few.
